When you stumble onto a classy wine bar establishment with super-friendly service and you aren’t hungry but can’t stop ordering their tasty menu treats, you know you’ve stumbled upon the next Thacks Awards winner!
Whilst the word Consonance means ‘agreement or compatibility between opinions and actions’ our opinion has been that we need to take action and give them a Thacks Award… Although the name of this wine bar then becomes more French ‘ – Bar à accords mets & vins’ it’s certainly a true gem in the city of Bordeaux’s colourful wine scene.
We made an online reservation and were surprised that this fine wine bar wasn’t packed although a steady stream of customers arrived in the hours we enjoyed our time there.
We also loved Bar a Vin in Bordeaux, a classic Bordeaux favourite showcasing some pretty stained glass artwork, bottle walls and great decor with wines from €2 to some great Brut offerings for €3; though Consonance‘s classy decor and ‘Cote bouffe’ (or ‘Food side’) menu in addition to the fantastic wine selections stole the show.
